The 16th International Conference on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (ICMAE 2025) was successfully held in Rome, Italy, from July 15 to 18, 2025. The conference was co-sponsored by the IEEE and the Science and Engineering Society, and co-organized by the University of Rome Tre, the University of Zagreb, and the Technical University of Kosice. It received strong support from the Politecnico di Porto, the University of Orleans, Washington University in St. Louis, the International Space University, the University of Huddersfield, and Istanbul Technical University.
Nearly 230 participants from over 20 countries, including Italy, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Canada, China, Japan, South Korea, Greece, the Czech Republic, the United States, India, and the United Arab Emirates, attended the conference.

The conference officially opened on the morning of July 16th. The conference chair, Professor Ian McAndrew of the International Space University, delivered an opening address, and the local chair, Professor Fabio Leccese of the University of Rome Tre, delivered a welcome address. They extended a sincere welcome to all participants and wished the conference a complete success.

Professor Antonio De Maio of the University of Naples Federico II, Italy; Professor Ramesh K. Agarwal of Washington University in St. Louis, USA; Professor Kambiz Ebrahimi of Loughborough University, UK; and Professor Emiliano Schena of the Biomedical Campus of the University of Rome, Italy, delivered engaging keynote speeches.


The conference featured 16 oral presentations and one poster session. The presentations covered topics such as aeroengine model design and performance simulation, electromechanical system design and functional control in aerospace engineering, aircraft structural design and aerodynamic performance analysis, aerospace material analysis and mechanical performance testing, AI-based engineering robots and intelligent system development, avionics systems and communications, modern intelligent autonomous systems, and aircraft manufacturing processes.

During the conference, two outstanding student papers, 16 Best Oral Presentation Awards, and one Best Poster Presentation Award were selected. Awards were presented on-site.
